Old iPod Safari history showing up on new iphone

Hi there, I lost my iPod a year or so ago but it was dead so I was unable to locate it or wipe it.  However, I just noticed today that the search history from my iPod is now showing up on my iPhone and iPad on Safari.  It looks like the search history is in the iCloud.  I finally (today) removed the device in iTunes and I was hoping that would remove the iPods search history but it's still there.  I have tried everything to clear the search history from the cloud but it seems impossible.  How can I get rid of this?  It's driving me crazy that it's there.  Why is it there?  I have other old devices that don't show this.

Double clicking the Home button and swipe Safari upwards. Go to Settings/Safari and clear History and Website Data. Open Safari and test.
