Help with sticky notes

Lately I have been unable to move my sticky notes by clicking on the top and dragging to a position on the desktop.  I am not aware of any new updates or other changes on the computer.  I have a MacBook Air with macOS Sierra  version 10 12 6, and use Safari.  I use the stickies all the time, so hope someone will have some input.  Jane
