Dog terrified of canned sound effects

Maybe someone else has this exact issue? I've searched the internet and can't find anything about it but when my dog hears *any* of the canned mac sound effects he literally starts shaking like a leaf and climbs on top of my head or shoulder. I just went through each sound effect to see if there are any he can handle and nope, not a one. I turned them off but I'm wondering --- can we add our own sound effect instead? I see no place to do this. I can't imagine no one else having this issue and assume it's been reported to apple. There must be a certain pitch in every sound effect that hurts his ears. Not good and why isn't there a workaround other than mute? Thank you.
