Did not working!

What is the problem? What happened?

I too would like to switch off two factor authentication, but they do not make it easy, do they?  I suspect the lack of response to your request also reflects this.  The one response you got relates to two step authentication, which is a different thing!

It's not very complicated...

To turn off two-factor authentication, sign in to your Apple ID account page at https://appleid.apple.com/ and click Edit in the Security section.

Then click Turn Off Two-Factor Authentication. After you create new security questions and verify your date of birth, two-factor authentication will be turned off.

HI

Go to ibooks dowwnload ipad user guide

Cheers

Perhaps I am looking for the wrong thing because when I go to edit my security settings it says Two Factor Authenticaction, Get Started...  which implies that I have succeeded in switching it off!

WHat is bugging me is: since last night when I updated the OS, I now have to key in a 4 digit passcode to get into my iPad.

CAn you be so good as to tell me how I can undo this, as I was very happy with just pressing the Home key to unlock it and I feel that there is really no security issue as my iPad never leaves my home.  The passcode will also be a nuisance on the occasions when my family want to use the tablet.

This has nothing to do with two-factor authentication / two-step authentication.

Go into your settings app, tap Touch ID & Passcode and "Turn off Passcode".

OK, I understand the process, and the reason, and the potential protections.  Wth multiple devices running under different family members' control, it's unworkable.  Now there's still a nag set under settings with two-factor authentication turned off.  How do I make that go away?

When I go to my "Security" page on my Mac there is no "Edit" button.

Hi javawayne. If you created a new iCloud Apple ID using iOS 10, you may not be able to disable 2-factor authentication.

Thank you Diana.McCall.

And why would that be?

Decision by Apple. Tighter security surrounding iCloud resources, including icloud.com mail.

Is there anyway where I don't have to change my password on 4 devices? I HATE IOS 11... Forced me to do this. I don't carry my iPhone everywhere. And I don't want Apple to have this info.
