CS5 or CS6 and Sierra

Just got a new MacBook Pro and installed CS5. Was then prompted to download latest JavaScript. Then, I opened illustrator and everything seemed fine until I discovered that it crashes EVERY time I try to save. Consulted google and found that maybe I need legacy JavaScript se 6? Tried to delete newer JavaScript and download legacy JavaScript. Illustrator is still crashing. I am not confident that the uninstall was done correctly. My question is, can CS5 work while running Sierra and if yes, how do I make it work? I may be able to get CS6...are my odds better with that? I have been all over these forums and I can't seem to make this work! I also must admit that I am not a computer genius, so be gentle. Please help...I'm going a little crazy over here.

The procedure listed here for El Capitan has worked for at least some folks with Sierra:

1) Quit Illustrator if it is open.

2) Open “Terminal.app”.

3) Paste the following command at the prompt:

sudo mv /Library/Application\ Support/Adobe/CS5ServiceManager/lib /Library/Application\ Support/Adobe/CS5ServiceManager/lib.bak

4) Enter your password when prompted and then press “Return.”

Thanks for your reply. Tried your suggestion and now when I try to open Ai it will not open and says to uninstall and then reinstall. When I tried to uninstall, it said "your uninstallation encountered errors."

Yikes - sorry about that.

You could try undoing the former command with:

sudo mv /Library/Application\ Support/Adobe/CS5ServiceManager/lib.bak /Library/Application\ Support/Adobe/CS5ServiceManager/lib

I ended up restoring it to factory settings and reinstalling sierra. Do you know if modifications made in the terminal will reset as well? Even after resetting it still will not let me install JavaScript se 6. It says that a newer JavaScript is already installed. I just can't get rid of it. Obviously cs5 is not working for me. Do you know of any problems with Sierra and cs6? If that doesn't work I might just have to get creative cloud! Really didn't want to do that but the 14 day window to exchange my computer has passed.

Well, you do have a newer version of JavaScript installed.

Have you tried downloading and installing this version of Java? It's worked for some:
