iMac w/ triple monitors switch sides each startup

I have a 2017 27” iMac with 2 external monitors connected via lightning to hdmi cable (one on either side). During startup, the two monitors swap places so there is no longer a flow.  Then I have to manually swap them back and all is good until the next restart and it happens all over again. I’ve never had this issue before and can’t see why this could be happening.

What happens if you switch the Thunderbolt ports you plug the adapters into?

Thanks for the thought! I actually thought of this same thing after I posted this last night. I haven’t had a chance to test it out, but I plan to give it a shot this evening. I’ll keep you posted.
