MacBook Pro GPU Efficiency Issue

I've noticed since the release of macOS 10.13 that the efficiency of my discrete graphics has decreased after waking from sleep. Playing video games, for example, if I start up my Mac and run the game I'll get for example, 100 fps. Putting it to sleep and waking it up later I will go down to about 25 fps. (All of this while the computer is using the discrete GPU). Also using benchmark programs, such as Cinebench, the same occurs. I'll hit around 75 fps after it's turned on and about 24 after waking from sleep. This does not change unless the computer is restarted. (Note: above occurs while on discrete GPU, not integrated graphics.)

I looked at the forums for one of the video games I play and one of the developers posted of an issue which existed in previous versions of macOS, where the graphics card would not wake from lower power mode until the computer was restarted (where everything was reset) and appears to be back. Has this happened to anyone else or might there be something wrong with my computer?

Let me know if there's anything else that can help.
