extract version from sqlite database

Hello, I am not an experienced Mac user so I don't know how possible this is. I am trying to rescue an older version of a missing file that was saved and not accidentally deleted! I think textedit crashed due to low storage space and the file which i have had for 2 years completely disappeared. Anyway, since textedit saves previous versions in the documentsrevisions-v100 folder, would it be possible to get my file back from there? And how? Are older versions automatically deleted together from there if the current file is deleted or disappears?  Thanks!
