I have lost my music

my ipod had over 3000 songs (or close) on it, it has died (battery just gave out I think)

when I went to load the library onto my iPhone, most of the music seems to have disappeared?

does anyone have any idea how I can find the music again- alot of it was from my CD collection,

but even purchased music has disappeared.
