4th gen iPad 10.3 update

My 4th gen iPad (model A1458) does not seem eligible for the iOS 10.3 update.  Following 10.3's release yesterday, software update today shows that it's "up to date" with iOS 10.2.1.  Isn't the 4th gen iPad compatible with iOS 10.3?

Mine did this but when I connected the iPad to iTunes on my iMac I was offered the update and all went well.

xxMikeBxx: Thanks for the reply. I don't sync with iTunes but if the update is available that way, I expect it will be OTA as well.

I suspected that may be the case.  I was also expecting an OTA update.  Oh well, time to bust out the old iTunes on my desktop and update "the old fashion way".

Hi S.S.G. It seems like this is a widespread problem, see link: Cannot Update 4th Gen iPad to iOS10.3. The incremental update server is apparently rejecting iPad 4. That should be fixed exentually.

I don't understand why the OTA update is not available. Don't see anything from Apple officially. Of course the iTunes option is there but not everyone wants to use iTunes. I'm one of those people. Any change 4th generation iPad user will get the OTA 10.3 update soon?

Hi. This is just a user forum, so we cannot answer your question. Since it seems like iPad 4 is the only 32-bit system receiving this update, there could be some complication in creating the incremental update for OTA. In contrast, the iTunes updates are complete system images, so they just load and go.

My did not have that problem probably because I used the beta version and it also shows the 10.2 beta 2 so my iPad does not have a problem

I have the same problem 6 months after your post. My iPad 4th Grn A1460 is the same as yours except my IOS update went as far as 10.3.3 and I continuously get "Your software is up to date" even though v11.0.3 is the current one

Unfortunately the 4th Generation iPad is not supported for iOS 11. See iOS 11 - Apple (UK) for a list of supported devices. Time to buy a new iPad!
