backing up iTunes

I have music, both purchased through iTunes and imported via CDs, in my
iTunes library.  Do I have the following correct? ... If my computer just
up and dies (i.e. completely stops working ... dead) ... is the only way
to restore the library would be to restore from a backup I had on some kind of
external device (i.e. a thumb drive, external hard drive, etc.)?  And a
follow-up question ... the iCloud doesn't back up an iTunes library,
correct?  The iCloud keeps a record of iTunes purchases (music, apps, etc.)
but does not backup music, correct?  Through the iCloud, past
purchases can be re-downloaded, but one wouldn't necessarily have to do that
because those purchases (the music) would already be in the backup, yes?
And, music that was imported into the library from CDs can only be restored
from a backup.   Do I have all that correct?

Thanks.

Brian

See Backup your iTunes for Windows library with SyncToy.

An iCloud backup of an iOS device does not include any media. You are expected to backup your content independently.
