No place to type "password followed by verifica...

I have an old MacBook Air running 10.9.5.

I recently tried to access iCloud Preferences. I'm asked to enter my password. I enter it.

I then get a notice on all my other devices that my Apple ID is being used to sign in to a new device.

I allow it and then am given a six digit verification code.

The MacBook Air tells me

An Apple ID verification code is required.

Type your password followed by the verification code as shown on your other devices.

Trouble is, there's no place to type it.

What now?

You need to type in the Password field. Password first, then the code, without any spaces between the two.
