What is the best Blu

What is the best plug-and-play Blu-ray external optical drive/burner for MACs with IOS 10.9.5 or greater? I know Apple does not endorse BD drives, but there must be a few that are agreeable.

You need to Blu-Ray burn software such as Toast Titanium to burn disc, and you need to install Blu-ray player such as Leawo Blu-ray Player which is available at Mac App Store for free.

Also, I may be using the Blu-ray optical external drive/burner with an older MacBook Pro A1226 (EMC2136) from early 2008. Some reviews say the drives you listed (very good selections, by the way) may not work with it, but if the OS is up to date, it should work fine, right?

I have read that this drive is the best Amazon.com: LG Electronics External Blu-ray/DVD Writer 3D Blu-ray Disc Playback & M-DISC Support (BE16NU50 ): Computers … but honestly it needs it's own power supply so it may not be very portable. I installed a blu-ray optical drive in my 2011 MacBook Pro  and used Mac Blu-ray Player software https://www.macblurayplayer.com/buy-mac-bluray-player-pro-code.htm and it worked flawlessly. I ended up getting free updates and the software also has a built in amplifier for sound. Since then my MacBook has died (the dreaded graphics card failure) and I will be purchasing the new MacBook Pro 15" and looking to buy an external Blu-ray drive and I will also be using the Mac Blu-ray Player software again.
