Temporary user with time machine

Hi,

I recently spilled some water on my regular MacBook Pro (luckily, the only thing that is not working is my screen, everything is okay with an external display).

As a replacement I got an old MacPro from a friend while mine is in the repairs. I was wondering if it is possible to make a temporary user by migrating via TimeMachine? Regrettably the MacPro has Yoshemite, while the MacBook was had Sierra, so I am guessing I will have problems there.

As a more general question: if I just add a new user, add dropbox and a few software that I need on it: what do I have to do to revert all the changes I am making at the temporary computer? (so remove dropbox, softer etc, or just delete the user and every change I made is deleted along with it?)
