How accurate is workout app category "Other" at...

Hi there,  I'm curious as to how accurate Apple Watch 2 can be for tracking various sports within the workout app category "Other". I prefer simplicity and a one app can do all type scenario. Therefore I don't want a tennis tracking app and a football tracking app etc. If the workout app can track simple things like calories burned and exercise minutes accurately enough I'd be happy. Hopefully someone has experience with this matter. Thanks in advance.

Hi

When recording workouts via the Workout app, choose the activity type that most closely matches your workout. This enables your watch to use the most appropriate sensors and data sources when estimating results, including using tailored calorie calculations for the main, pre-set activity types.

To record workouts that are neither included within nor sufficiently similar to those in the main list, choose "Other" as the activity type.

For all "Other" workouts, this credits one minute of Exercise for each full minute of the workout and Active Calories (Move goal) at a rate equivalent to a brisk walk or based on data from the heart rate sensor, whichever is higher. (Note that neither distance nor a route map are recorded under this workout type).

When ending an Other workout, tapping the option to "Name Workout" enables you to label the workout, choosing from a range of activity types (the choice of label does not affect the recorded results).

This aligns somewhat with my question. I used to pick Indoor walk when playing basketball so the timer wouldn’t stop when i stopped moving. It would typically calculate around 5-600 calories burned. I tried the ”other” category today and it was just over 1k burned. Why the big difference? I played for about the same amount of time and i doubt i burned that many. When naming the “other“ workout, does that only apply a name, or does it apply logic to the data?
