Confused about external monitors for MBP Retina
I have a retina MBP (13 inch) with a resolution of 2560x1600 (WQ-XGA, a bit above Quad HD) and it won't drive a 'proper' 4k monitor at full res. if I understand correctly. Now the issue is that 2560x1600 monitors are quite expensive compared to current 4ks so what should one do?
- Buy a 4k and run it at a lower resolution?
- Buy a Quad HD and lose the difference between 1440 and 1600?
- Anything else?
PS: thats in the context of a reasonably wide gamut monitor, for photo editing but below true 'pro' specs as the budget won't stretch that far...
Thanks!
