is it possible to copy a video from an iMac to ...

OK, Have an iMac and i pad pro. Latest OS on each. Is it possible to take a video from my movie library on the iMac and transfer it to the i pad? I tried doing this via iTunes but it either does not work at all, or the video file has disappeared into my iPad and I don't know how to find it. From reading "managing content"-type answers from Apple it seems like videos are not transferred at all during backups. Like when I plug my iPad into a usb port to sync address changes for example. Videos do not come over. So how does content get transferred or is it even possible?

If you do it during the sync, then the video should go into the TV app. With iOS10 Apple put all video files, movie or not, into the TV app.

thanks for this info. You're saying that if I took a video, not purchased from the iTunes store, or a commercial video, just one I made myself and put it into the iPad's movie list and synched it, it would go to the TV app (icon) and not iTunes and I could find it inside the TV app?

You will find it inside the TV app on the device.

I have many home made video files and they are all in the TV app. There is a section in there for purchased movies and

’home movies’ which is what they call non-purchased movies.
