Calls are being dropped on watch

Is anyone else having trouble with calls being dropped on the watch? I'm in bluetooth range, but either I can't answer the call at all or it connects and immediately loses the call. I'd say it's happened about 70% of the time so far.

Yep.  Same thing happens to me.  I also can't make calls.  There are a few different threads on here about this.  Some people have found solutions (turn of wifi calling if you have it).  None have worked for me.  The update today made no difference either. 

Have you tried resetting your watch? Press and hold the side button and the Digital Crown for 10 seconds or more, until the Apple logo appears on the screen.

OK..., it's a couple of years later but I've been having the same problem for a few weeks. My iWatch won't keep a phone connection when I'm within inches of the phone. It just happened and I was able to save the call by switching to the iPhone. Both the phone and the iWatch are using the latest software upgrades and I would think that the upgrade process would have restarted the watch. Anyway, I did just manually restart the watch and I'll report back if that worked. Restarting the device is the standard first step to fixing any IT problem. 8-)

OK, I was able to pick up a call on the watch when I wasn't in my own house. So..., I'll consider this resolved for the moment. On the other hand, I'm still wondering if it still could be an issue with my network or the 1950's solid masonry construction of my "new" house.

I did have a problem with the "network." I was plugging my iPhone directly into speakers and the handoff software doesn't appear to consider that case. Basically, the phone disconnected the telephone conversation shortly after I picked it up on the iWatch. In the short (and probably long) term, the answer is to either play music directly from the phone or to use AirPlay.
