Late 2012 iMac RAM Upgrade

I currently have 2 iMacs that I use between the house and work. One is a late 2011 iMac and the other is a late 2012 iMac. The 2012 iMac is starting to slow down a bit and I would like to upgrade the RAM to prolong the life another year or two. My question is, if I upgrade from the 8gb that is already in it to 16, can I put the 8 that I take out and put it into the 2011 iMac? The 2011 iMac at work is mainly used for word processing and email so it doesn't really need anything too snappy or new. I just thought that I could maybe boost both machines while being cost effective at the same time. Any input, including RAM suggestions is greatly appreciated!

Nope totally different specs.
