Is the recently discovered WiFi Security flaw p...

I saw on the news yesterday that there’s a rather serious WiFi Security flaw on all OS’s including iOS. I realize Apple states the company does not comment on security flaws. However, I do not see the issue addressed in the most recent update 11.0.3. Will a patch for this issue going to be addressed immediately, or is it taken care of in newest updat. How am I to know if using WiFi is a potentially more extreme risk right now?

Please address.

thank you,

Yes.

Oct 16, 2017 10:59 AM PT  Update: Apple said in a statement that all current iOS, macOS, watchOS, and tvOS betas include a fix for KRACK.

Note: as security flaws go, this is not as bad as the media is trying to make it.

Yes, it should be fixed, but the attacker needs to get close to every WiFi network they want to penetrate. Then all they get is to piggy back on your network, and maybe use your shared printer.

To get any further the have to break into you device, just like every other internet hacker that is already trying to break in to your device. So far how are those internet dudes doing breaking into your Mac, iPhone, iPad, etc...

Again, this does need to be fixed, but it is not something's no to panic over.

Actually, the Apple release says that current Betas contain the fix - so iOS 11.0.3 doesn't contain the fix.

Isn't the media always pushing FUD?

Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt.

That seems to be the rule they live by.

Yes.  This is just the Hi-Tech version of "If it Bleeds, It Leads" news story.
