Change my Country/Region without Credit Card

I changed my iPhone's Apple ID region to Canada because I wanted to download a game that was only available to that Store, it never asked me fot a credit card to go to the Canada region but now I want to change to the US region but it doesn't let me because It asks me for a credit card which I don't have. Thanks in Advance!

It is my understanding that the CC info is used to establish "residency" by checking that the issuing bank is in the country that you claim to be in. Once Apple runs the check, you can remove the verified CC and replace it with none.

Thanks for the Reply!

In that article it says that I can click None but that's just when you edit you're payment method, if you change your region it's different, it asks for my credit card no matter what if I change back to the US region and that's my problem. There is no "None" option if I try to change my region to US from Canada.

After you make that type of change, you must validate yourself by providing a current credit card. After validating, you can change to none for your payment method. Changing your region is not the same.

This is done to prevent exactly what you may be trying to do. No suggestion on my part that your situation is not legitimate or valid. I am surprised you were not challenged the same way when you switched to Canada.

In iTunes world, your country of residence must match the billing address country on your payment method. And your actual address must match the actual address of your payment method. So if you do not have a US address, credit card and the addresses do not match, you can't change your country.

Sadly the amount of fraud these days compels online services to take these types of measures to keep on top of it.

You may have to call Apple Support for their help, as they have features not available to you on your own.

Thanks guys for the fast replies!

So if I put my credit card info that it asks me for I can later change it to none and I won't be able to buy anything in the iTunes Store? The thing is that my dad doesn't want to give me the credit card because he thinks I can buy something by accident and he doesn't want that to happen.

The problem you have came from changing stores.

It's illegal to download app from another country if you are not living there.

that's something I didn't know, the app that I downloaded was Clash Royale it was only available for Canada at that moment but a couple of days later they launched it worldwide.

Yes, it's illegal if you got it from some other country App Store if you are not living there.

You should delete the app and re-download again from your country App Store.

I was planning to do that but I need to change my region first

You may have backed yourself in to a corner that only Apple Support can help you with.

Legalities aside, the situation should be fixable.

You need to get your Dad involved NOW! No other actions until then.

You have two options:

  1. Get your Dad to sit down and put in his CC, get it verified, then change it to NONE after = he should NOT let you watch so that he feels comfortable that you don't spy his CC #
  2. Get your Dad to set up Family Share with "Ask to Buy" > Set up Family Sharing - Apple Support

Thanks for all the replies, I will talk to him

He will be proud of you for taking the initiative to offer him the solution (I hope... I would be!)

I made the same thing. I wanted a game from the Canadian store and now I just want to switch to the Romanian store back. I don't want to put my credit card informations in becausethere are some problems with my credit card, not reading it at the ATM. I want to chande my store as soon as possible. Thank you very much!
