Nightstand mode
I left my Apple Watch charging in nightstand mode. Clock did not fade. This morning the clock was still showing and had only charged 65% despite being charged all night. Problem persists today - nightstand mode clock won't fade. Afraid of burn-in and concerned about charge rate.
Disabling nightstand mode shows normal clock face - also doesn't fade while charging.
Normal clock face fades while wearing on wrist.
Help?
Hi
When charging your Apple Watch in Nightstand Mode, check that you are placing it on a surface that is still and free from vibrations.
Whilst in Nightstand Mode, your Apple Watch is especially sensitive to vibrations. This feature may, for example, enable the screen to be woken when nudging the bedside table on which it is standing:
When charging your Apple Watch, also check that you are following all of the instructions here:
If the issue persists, I suggest that you contact Apple Support (mail-in service may be available, if required), make a Genius Bar reservation or visit an Apple Authorised Service Provider for assistance:

Jonathan, that was a keen tip. I had recently put a small fan close to the charging area. Thank you.
You're welcome!
To get around the fan keeping your watch awake, you can also try disabling "Wake Screen on Wrist Raise." The Nightstand Mode feature that allows you "nudge" the watch or table it rests on is dependent on the "Wake Screen on Wrist Raise" mode. Another way to disable "Wake Screen on Wrist Raise" is to enable Theater Mode. It doesn't seem like these features are related on the surface. But they are. And I think it's unfortunately so. But perhaps in your case, this may actually be desired. So before removing your watch and placing it on you nightstand, just quickly enter the Control Center, enable Theater Mode, then set your watch on the charger for Nightstand Mode. The tradeoff you will find is that you now must physically tap the screen or press a button in order to wake the watch and show the Nightstand Mode display. The gentle nudge will no longer work to wake it.
