Account Keeps Getting Locked

Back in December, my apple ID was stolen and I had to reset the password. I went through a big long process of changing all my passwords to any account that might even be associated with it and removed the only device I didn't recognize from my authorized list. Now, every three months I have to change my password because it keeps saying there are too many failed log in attempts and that my account is locked. I know the device I use(an iPad 2) is pretty old, out of date, and malfunctions pretty regularly, but I also know that I'm not messing up my password as I very rarely even type it in at all.

I just want to know, could it just be my device misbehaving or is there someone out there that really wants my account and just won't give up? Sure, it doesn't take much to change my password, but I should have to change it every couple months.

It's likely to be somebody who knows that the email address is linked to an iTunes Support and is trying to guess your password (or just getting the account disabled). You could consider using 2-step verification for the account : Two-step verification for Apple ID - Apple Support
