Yes, Absinthe is a liquor made from distilling wormwood, usually 90-148 proof.

Seriously though, there is no other application called by that name that I'm aware of. I have no idea what it is doing in your Console. Did you ever download it?

Nope.  Not on purpose anyway.

Yes it is.  I was hoping not have to do things the hard way, but since I don't know why it is there, or if it is supposed to be there, then I will erase and restore the Mac, and add one thing back at a time to see when or if it reappears.  Any thoughts before I do this?

backup, then format the drive or install to a new drive.

If you are clean installing the OS the components of the old OS will not be restored from the Migration Assistant but if you have some application that deployed this you should try to isolate it from the backup.

You might download EasyFind and do a search for it, including invisibles. If you find it, you can delete it through the EasyFind interface. Just to be sure, make a Time Machine or clone backup first.
