Apple Mail smart mailbox rule question

I want to create a smart mailbox based on the rule Subject > begins with > Re:

Trouble is it does not work with the colon on the end of "Re" and if you remove it, I get all emails with subject lines that begin with Re such as "Receipt" etc.

Is there a fix for this, perhaps using certain syntax? Or a plugin I can use with smarter rules?

Are you really running OS 10.6 as shown in your equipment profile? The OS level may make a difference in the solution.
