Lost Collection In Font Book

I had a group of fonts (over 100) organized in collection to separate my commercial fonts from personal use fonts. I opened up font book a week ago and the entire collection was empty. The collection name was there but nothing in it. I have googled the problem and it seems to be a known issue but the solutions seem to be older and refer to a plist file I can't seem to locate. Has anyone had this issue recently and found a solution? Any ideas on how to recover this collection? It was a lot of work to organize them and I don't want to have to start over!

Can't really help, but if you know the .plist location, it is probably in your user Library.

Go to Finder and select your user/home folder. With that Finder window as the front window, either select Finder/View/Show View options or go command - J.  When the View options opens, check ’Show Library Folder’. That should make your user library folder visible in your user/home folder.  Select Library.

Perhaps I did something wrong but I don't see that option. Did I do something wrong?

Read this article : Mac Basics: Font Book - Apple Support

And read the paragraph disable and enable specific fonts in the article .

The fonts are still on my computer, my collection where I had certain one's organized has disappeared.

In your above screen shot of user library macOS Sierra: Library folder

The pic is showing a folder named fonts disabled , click on it can you see removed fonts .

Go to Finder/Preferences/Sidebar/Favorites and check the house at the bottom that has your name next to it. Then go to the Finder Sidebar, select the house, and try command - J.
