Did WatchOS 3 change the touch sensitivity?

After recently updating my watch and phone to the newest software, I've been plagued by problems with the touch-sensitivity on both devices. It seems like most times I look at my watch, it's in the middle of doing something I never told it to do, like checking the weather, starting a timer, stopping a timer that I had set intentionally, or giving me the time in other timezones...all of these are things I have set as complications, so I'm assuming it's got something to do with phantom presses on the home screen. Example: the other day, I was in the middle of typing when my phone suddenly started pinging. I looked at my watch, and saw that it had somehow opened the swipe-up screen and activated the ping-my-phone dealie. How does that happen? Similarly, on my phone, whenever I take it out of my pocket, it seems to have something going on, like notifications or Apple Pay or Control Center...It's not unlocking itself, but it will do everything else that can be accessed from the home screen.

On the flip side, I've also found that if my fingers are the least bit damp, these devices won't register ANY of my touches. Of course, trying to use a touchscreen with dripping wet fingers has always been a problem, but never to this extent. After washing my hands I can't use my phone or watch until I've repeatedly wiped my hands on my pants on gotten rid of any last bit of moisture. Somehow the average towel or paper towel just doesn't cut it, it has to be my pants. And forget about touch ID. I regularly have to manually enter my passcode.

I never had a problem before WatchOS 3 and iOS 10. Did they somehow change the screen sensitivity on all devices?Does this sound ridiculous? Or do you know exactly what I'm talking about? I don't expect a "fix" so much as I'm hoping for a "you're not alone".

I have exactly this problem. Is is very annoying. I am close to ditching my watch as I can't use it as a timer, to track activities etc.

I even have tried, several times, that in the middle of a workout it has decided to stop the registration of the workout, which is really bad.

But yes, I see the same - apps starting, workouts started/stopped, things pressed over and over again.

its makes it unuseable to me, sadly.

Changing the settings to wake up the screen might help. It defaults to wrist raise. You can change it to require a tap instead. This might help

Go to the Settings App(gear wheel)on the Watch. General/wake screen/ turn off "wake on wrist raise". Hope this helps. Take care

Thanks for the tip - it certainly seems to have helped, but now it has become an issue that the screen does not wake up while swimming / running, without it doing it automatically from wrist raise.

Its not handy to tap on the screen, while working out - hmmmm ...

But the "strange" part here is, that my friends who has the "first" Apple Watch, dont have a clue what I am talking about, when I tell them about this.

My wife has the 38 mm watch (series 2) too, and she see the same behaviour as me.

I am having issues as well. When at my clock face screen, my weather app just activates itself. Either by the icon in the top left or the temp in the top right.  Anyone have a solution?
