MacBook Pro screen goes black, system freezes

Hi,

My MacBook Pro (Mid 2010, 15") keeps intermittently playing up. The screen goes black (as well as my external monitor) and the system seems to totally lock up as any music playing freezes in that jolty broken CD way.

Any other possibilities? Bad RAM module?

I have the same problem what was the actual problem causing this to happen?

I also have been experiencing the same thing. I will be typing and all of a sudden the screen goes black. I tried to push the power button to shut down and restart and even that doesn't respond. After about 15 minutes, the screen eventually comes back up to the sign in screen.

It sounds like the issue listed in the article you posted. Try following the steps in the article and get back to me.

Mine is only a few months old...a 2014 model, not a 2010 model.

Since it is still under warrenty I recommend taking it to your local Apple store and seeing what they can do. Click HERE to find the closest Apple store to you.
