apple reminders on macOS

i use Apple Reminders across iOS, iCloud and macOS. I like to mostly use the 'scheduled' view instead of the separated lists because it separates my items by date - on iOS and iCloud i can easily add a new reminder item in scheduled view - this is great because it automatically adds a due and time depending on the day i add it from.

 

But i can't do this on macOS. there is no way to add a new reminder item from the 'scheduled' view. Please can this be added? It's useful and it will then be consistent across all 3 platforms

It certainly seems inconsistent, and I can find no reason for it to be that way.
