Why is my Mac so slow?

Hi folks.

My Mac Pro has screeched to a halt sometimes.  I can't seem to figure out why it's doing this.

- Mac Pro 8-core 2.8 MHz Early 2008.

- 250 GB SSD startup (44 GB available)

- 20 GB RAM

- El Capitan latest

- 4 other internal hard drives, independent of all this stuff

- a Drobo5N SAN (yes I know it's network slow)

Copying over to the Drobo, importing music into iTunes, playing local videos, all can be amazingly slow.

Activity monitor shows CPU 87% idle, memory pressure is green with < 35% used (I maintain free memory using MemoryFreer).  Not really sure what Energy Impact means, but it spikes to 20 for some items, then returns back around zero.

Console has that pesky postfix respawn message, but I can't seem to fix that somehow.  Other than that, the machine is almost idle, with some monitoring of CPU time and some streaming music.

Any input appreciated.  Cheers

No apps to "clean" or restore memory are necessary or recommended for Mac OS. This may be part of the problem.

Please download and run EtreCheck, created by one of own helpers here in ASC. It is a diagnostic tool that's very useful to us in finding problems. Also it will give us further specs on your Mac. After it runs post the log file here. It will contain no personal information.
