How do I remove Steam from my dock even though ...

Summary: I don't even use steam a lot so I wanted to delete it. So, what I did was just drag it to the trash and then I emptied it. For some reason, steam still shows in my dock and it has a slightly transparent "?" on it. I tried to drag it to the trash but it won't work. I tried to force quit it but it doesn't really work. Is there any other way to remove it from my dock? Also, before I removed it I tried to force quit it but it just wouldn't quit. So as a result I trashed it but it still remains on my dock with a "?".

Mac Info: MacOS Sierra 10.12.4

Drag the Dock icon away from the Dock until "Remove" appears.
