sound control keys on magic keyboard in Sierra ...

i'm using Sierra 10.12.6 and the sound control keys on magic keyboard doesn't work

there is no option in system preferences -> keyboard

to disable function keys

Here's the upper part of the keyboard pane in El Capitan. The unchecked box is the setting you are looking for.

Try holding down the fn key when trying to adjust the sound.

Thx, but holding the fn key only works when applying commands to the F1-F12. not for sound control.
