I don't know how it happened, but it did, and that's that. So the next step is learning the estimated cost to repair it from Apple, because other companies would likely replace it with cheaper components. I would also like to know if I don't have to replace the entire display and am capable of repairing a small section. My Apple Care plan expired a while ago, so that's out of the question.

The crack seems to have created lines on the X and Y axis of my computer, and has put tiny white lines in the area of it as well as lowered the refresh rate.
