Did Gtalk/Google Talk stop working in messages ...

Gtalk in Messages was working as recently as last week for me. Is this a change with High Sierra (which I'm using)? Anyone else seeing this, or know the plans for it?

I tend to use Messages about 50/50 for Apple users and Google, so this seriously limits it's value to me going forward.

Google discontinued Google Talk and replaced it with Hangouts. This happened on June 26th of this year.

it's unlikely at this point that the Messages app will ever be compatible with Google Talk/Gchat/Hangouts ever again. I personally started using at app called YakYak as my desktop Google Hangouts client. It's extremely sleek, and i don't really miss having Hangouts in Messages anymore. That being said, I never really used Messenger for anything BESIDES Hangouts, so don't have to keep two chat apps open
