How do I stop preview from loading blurry low r...

I often use preview to read comic pdfs and the images are pretty large. Preview does this thing where in a split second before the high quality image loads, a blurry low res version is shown. It happens so quickly that it looks like the image is flickering. Basically, it drives me crazy. Any way to change this or pre-load the pdf or something?
