How to recreate Recovery HD

After installing windows 10 on a Bootcamp partition, the RecoveryHD partition disappeared. It cant be seen in disk utility in MacOs, or from the internet recovery version. I did not delete any partition during the bootcamp setup, or the windows setup. It just showed up as empty space on disc.

I tried re-installing Sierra but that did not recreate Recovery HD.  I did repartion the disc to have my main paprtition include the space left by recovery HD. Seemed logical to me.

Any ideas on how to recreate recovery HD? Use the Lion tool?

The Recovery Partition is now hidden from view in both Disk Utility as well as Startup Manager.

You can verify its presence by booting Recovery mode: About macOS Recovery - Apple Support.

ahh, but I did boot into recovery mode. Recovery HD  showed up as empty space after the incident When looking at it in recovery mode. I then booted into recovery mode again, repartitioned the empty space and mac HD into one partition, and reinstalled sierra to that partition.

Clarification questions - after reinstalling Sierra, you still have no Recovery Partition? Are you attempting to access the Recovery Partition by holding down the command - R keys during a restart?

this is correct. No recovery partition after reinstall. I tried to acces recovery partition, by using command R, but it boots into internet recovery instead.

Reinstalling macOS from macOS Internet Recovery should restore the missing RP.

Ok, so i guess i stumbled into a bug Ill try again!

Do I need to format the entire drive before reinstalling Sierra? Including the bootcamp partition?

I have the same situation:

there is no Recovery HD Partition

when restarting by pressing ALT(Option) key this Recovery HD does not appear (just macOS and BootCamp)

when restarting with CMD+R goes directly to Internet Recovery mode

already reinstalled Sierra High macOS using USB, macOS working fine but still no Recovery HD Partition
