video projector power on causes quicktime to reset

I have a projection set up, with projector mounted to the ceiling  with a Mac mini hooked up via HDMI. The projection is on the wall in a art gallery and will be on display for about a month. The project tor has to be turned off at the end of the day to preserve the projector bulb but we leave the Mac running. The file. Ring projected is a QuickTime file with audio set to loop continuously. The problem is that when the projector is turned on at the beginning of the day the QuickTime file stops and the desktop screen is displayed. The Mac is located up in the ceiling so a ladder has to be used to access the Mac, using a mouse to click on the QuickTime file to restart it.  

My question- why is the QuickTime file shutting off? How can I set up the Mac so that the QuickTime file is not interrupted each time the video projector is turned on and off?
