Problems with Ext Hard Drive / Symbolic Links

I have the most recent Logic Pro X update on my Mac Pro (mid 2012, running Sierra), and use my 1TB LaCie mini to help store things like Alchemy, EXS24, GarageBand, and Apple Loops.  I recently made symbolic links on my boot drive, directing to the following folders on my external drive:

Mac HD/Application Support/Logic/EXS Factory Samples

Mac HD/Application Support/Logic/Ultrabeat Samples

Mac HD/Application Support/Logic/Alchemy Samples

Mac HD/Application Support/GarageBand

Mac HD/Application Support/Audio/Apple Loops Index

Mac HD/Application Support/Audio/Apple Loops/Apple

Mac Hd/Users/Music/Logic

2 problems:

1)When using logic, sounds like Drum Machine and Drummer tracks show up as not downloaded/unavailable. 

2) When opening logic I get that same **** 'essential sounds download".

How do I get all the symlinks to work smoothly? And how do I get rid of the opening installation?
