How do I download all songs at once on itunes m...
How do I download my entire iTunes match library to a device at once rather than one song at a time or syncing with a USB cable?
I don't see a specific command to download ALL songs in your iCloud Music Library to an iOS device. But I can think of a way to do it. On the computer, in iTunes, create a playlist with ALL of your songs. You can do this manually, by selecting all songs in your iTunes music library (at the same time), and adding the selection to the playlist. OR, you can create a smart playlist that has all of your songs. For the smart playlist, set it to
- Match the following rule (checkmark box)
- Only one rule is needed. Media Kind - is - Music
- Live Updating (checkmark box)
That smart playlist automatically contains all items in your library that are categorized as Music, which means it has all of your songs on it. It automatically updates when you add new songs to your iTunes library.
That playlist (smart or manual) with all of your songs is now also in your iCloud Music Library. Find it on your iOS device. Tap the symbol with three dots next to playlist name. Tap the cloud with down-arrow symbol to download all songs on playlist.
This is the forum category for iTunes for Mac, so are you downloading using iTunes on a Mac? Or "to a device" that is not a Mac?
If it's on a Mac, in iTunes, select the songs you want to download on a song list, then right-click selection and Download.
I was trying to download entire catalog on a PC as well as Ipod and Iphone
Do you understand how to do it in iTunes on the Mac? If all of your songs are currently in iCloud only (not stored locally), show your iTunes music library song list and select all of your songs at the same time (Select All from Edit menu or Cmd-A on keyboard), then right-click the selection and Download.
I've never had a need (or desire) to do that on an iOS device. Are you sure you want to download all of your songs "at once" on your iPod touch and iPhone? Is there enough storage capacity on your iOS device to hold all of your songs?
Yes, I was trying to put all on songs on an Ipod...The storage capacity would be great enough.

How do you do this in iTunes 12.4? The download option has been removed as well as "Make Available Offline" . So you can right click, but not download. Did apple fully bork this?
Don't you see these two options (circled in the SS)?
Thanks, I restarted the Mac and iTunes. For some reason the download option was not there until restart (I had kept looking for it as per the posts above). It worked now. Sometimes smart menus don't work. I noticed once I started downloading the download option disappeared.
NOT HELPFUL!!!!!!!
Many thanks for this jewel of information - moved my library and as it always seems to happen never quite works our and this saved me many hours of clicking an artist/album at a time to download a 20,000 song Apple Music Library!! My ISP not going to be happy BUT all my music will be back on my hard drive.
Thanks much!!
