turned I cloud safari sync on my iPad and MacBo...

folders on the iPad appear our of order. so I go to iCloud and I deactivate it. it asks me on whether I want it to delete the bookmarks that have synced. I say yes. I go to the bookmarks on my iPad and it has deleted the bookmarks that I had saved locally before the sync as well. so bookmarks lost. I assign it to sync again so maybe the folders will appear correctly this time. not only they don't appear correctly but also any changes in the folders don't sync between the MacBook and the iPad. how can I make the folders appear in order and how can I have them sync changes in the folders and the bookmarks between those two devices?

If you're trying to sort Safari bookmarks, try this --

Drag the folder with the bookmarks to your Desktop and the Finder window will automatically alphabetize the bookmarks. Then drag it back into the Safari window.

Thanks for that recommendation. Great thonking in helping ithers. Unfortunately though the problem did not get fixed. I lost a few bookmarks because when icloud safari sync on the ipad gets decativated it deletes all the bookmakrs from the device and not only the ones that synced through another device. Which means that if you browsed for a week having your icloud sync off and saved a few bookmarks and then you synced with your macbook that you have a ton of different and similar bookmarks amd then you deactivate icloud safari sync on the ipad then it dowsnt delete the ones that synced from your macbook to your ipad but it deletes all the bookmakrs from The iPad.

This is absurd. Safari should have an alphabetize feature like EVERY OTHER BROWSER does!
