iCloud email storage sync not updating

Please confirm that the iCloud folders are actually on iCloud and not ON MY MAC.

Also, are you signed in to iCloud on the Mac and iCloud.com?

Assuming those to be true, Back up anything on your iMac that is not on iCloud.com. Just make a copy somewhere.

Quit Mail.

In iCloud system prefs, uncheck Mail.

Check that you don't have the account in Mail anymore, then Quit Mail.

Reselect Mail in System prefs.

Check that everything is in sync.

Move some of the backed up items into Mail and see if they sync.

Check for syncing when deleting and moving messages.
