If, whilst typing an email on my iPad, I go to another app to look something up, when I come back to the email the last chunk of text that I typed has disappeared. Is this a common problem?

I had the same issue with my old ipad2 when say writing an reply in these forums and going to another tab to google something and returning it had closed the tab with the forum down in memory and did a reload costing my already written text

I say it's memory management another girl wrote about the same issue with her game starting over a few days around when she left it to google game stuff. my new iPad 2017 don't have the issue I experienced likely because it has a lot more system memory, but likely its your mini showing it's age, or the app you use require  a lot of memory which is then reclaimed when you use other apps like your email
