Logic 10.3.1 unstable and crackling with LG 5k ...

Logic is nearly unusable with my brand new Macbook Pro 15" - 2016, and the new LG 5K Display. I'm unable to scroll across the composition without my studio monitors crackling loudly. I've read that this is a known issue and I've tried changing my color settings for the monitor. Is my only option to use LOW RES mode? That seems ludicrous.

My Macbook Pro:

OSX 10.12.5

2.9GHz i7

16gb 2133 MHz LPDDR3

Radeon Pro 460 4096mb

Someone help!

I have heard of this issue with the LG unfortunately.

Can you borrow another screen from somewhere to see if you get the same problem?

If theres no problem with a different screen can you return the LG?

I use Macbook Pro with the Apple Thunderbolt 27 Display, no problems.

Have you tried increasing the i/o buffer? That worked for me when I was getting crackling with window scrolling.

I have turned it all the way up, with no positive effect. I've started turning OFF every track that I have muted, and its helping, but with a NEW computer, MAXED out, I would assume that it could handle AT LEAST what my old MBP could handle. I'm totally bummed and perplexed.

UPDATE! 10.3.2 is doing the same freaking thing. Just thought everyone should know.

Couple of things to try...

In Logic's Preferences/Audio set Multithreading to "Playback Tracks"

Under Processing Threads set it to half the maximum amount. if it's four, set it to two.

Try them one at a time then both together.. see if there's any difference.
