No place to enter verification code in iCloud

Hi. Reset my Apple ID password via iphone after someone overseas apparently tried to use it. Now I'm logging in on my Mac. I can enter the new password and receive the verification code on my phone, but there's no place to enter it in iCloud. It says "An Apple ID verification code is required. Type your password followed by the verification code shown on your other devices." But there's nowhere to enter the code.

So stupid! What do I do?

What they mean is this...

All in one string >>> passwordverificationcode

Password is 1234567aB and code is 7654, you enter 1234567aB7654

See this -- What to do after you change your Apple ID email address or password - Apple Support

Are you referring to an Apple ID - 2 Factor Authentication code?

If so, you need OSX 10.10 or better. Try an app-specific password.

Tried that several times, it isn't working. We are beyond frustrated.

We'll need some context here.

The thread is 6 months old and exactly solves the issue for the message from the OP.

"An Apple ID verification code is required. Type your password followed by the verification code shown on your other devices."

What is happening for you and where/when?

Any thoughts on why it won't work on my old iPod model #:A1367?  I followed your (very clear) instructions to the person you were advising regarding their iPhone 4s but when I do enter the password immediately followed by the six-digit code sent to my other device I simply get the same error message stating either invalid username or password.  Thank you in advance.

You have an iPod Touch 4th Gen which can only run iOS 6.1.6 maximum.

If you are using 2FA, you must be using iOS 9 or later.

I do not see an iOS level requirement for 2 Step Verification.

I see.  Thank you!

I have tried this exactly like you said and it does not wo

Hva not been able to do this it does not work

I have this problem too - so annoying

Same problem with MacBookPro running sys 10.12.5 in early June [last week].

As for all else, annoying that I keep getting the 'incomplete sign in' alert with no way to do so.

It worked for my iPad.

Hello, I have the same problem. My HD crashed today, my Mac got reinstalled and now I cannot connect to App Store to download apps which I need for work. My iPad and iPhone are showing me Verification Codes, but my MacBook does not have any place where to enter them. As I enter my Apple ID Password, it continues showing "An Apple ID verification code is required to sign in. Type your password followed by the verification code shown on your other devices". What should I do in this case?Screen Shot 2017-06-27 at 01.06.49.png

Exactly as it says...

If your password is Apple! and your verification code is 123456, type Apple!123456 in the password field.

Your password followed by the verification code.

Hello LACAllen, if I enter that 6-digit code in the password field, it does not work as well. Please see...
