ipad 2 support

I am looking at purchasing a used ipad 2 9.7 with wifi and gsm/gps but want to be sure that there is still support for this device or is not worth putting money into?

An iPad 2 cannot be updated beyond iOS 9. It cannot run iOS 10 nor will it be able to run iOS 11 when it comes out this fall. That also means it cannot run new/updated apps as they come out as they will require 64 bit iOS 11.

Apple no longer supports it but it doens't mean you can't use it - as long as the price seems fair to you.

or you could be holding a brick that Apple will not give you the time of day if it's locked up.
