Organise and delete massive email

I'm using mac mail to receive and send out emails from 5 email accounts.

One of the emails was compromised and I received 7000 emails in half an hour.

Somehow I've deleted the emails from that particular account but cannot find the mail

on the mac mail inbox. My mac mail indicates 10000 over email so it must be in there somewhere.

Whats the best way to delete the unwanted email without having to go through the mail one at a time?

Log into your email provider's web mail page and delete the emails directly from the server if they are still there.

After such a deluge, Mac Mail may have become confused, and a Restart may be needed to set it straight.
