Problem with completed recurring reminders

I'm having a problem with the reminders app after I complete recurring tasks scheduled.

I use the app to remind me of monthly payments which, after I mark complete, they generate a new reminder for the new date. This works fine.

The problem is that a few days later the reminder appears again with the old date, as if I had not completed the task. Searching back you can also see the completed reminder and looking forward you see the new schedule.

This is really annoying, especially when I have more than a few reminders on a date.

By the way, I've tried deleting reminders from ALL devices and login in again, and hasn't worked.

Every time it happens, I create a new reminder, deleting the old one, and hasn't worked.

I hope to get help.

After completing the Reminder and marking it complete, have you tried selecting it and hitting the delete key?

When I mark it complete it crooses out and generates its new scheduled reminder for next month.

That is how it should work and is working. The problem is days later that it appears again as if it is not complete. If delete this error I delete the recurring task.

What I do is mark the item as complete when it shows up as due. It then regenerates a new reminder for the next time it is due, as expected. I then delete the reminder I just marked as complete. For example, a weekly reminder to run my clone backup comes due today. I mark it as complete. It regenerates for next Thursday. The reminder from today, I then delete.

Thanks Ill try doing this, hope it works.

Anyway its nice to have all completed tasks for future reference ...

I agree it's nice to have completed tasks for future reference. I do hope Apple gets all these cross-device recurring reminder things ironed out, because it's such an amazingly useful tool. I use them all day long to help keep me on track with Household/kid schedules, work schedules, and personal goals, they're amazing.
