How do I delete icloud from my mac without dele...

iCloud is backing up files on my desktop and I don't want this to happen. The instructions that I read say to delete files from your icloud drive on Filer, which will, in turn, switch off icloud backups. However, I don't want to delete my files. I just want to remove icloud.

Copy the files from iCloud Drive to a folder other than Documents and the Desktop. Go to System Preferences/iCloud/iCloud Drive/Options and turn off syncing or if you want to sync, turn off Optimization. Rearrange the files as desired.

iCloud doesn't back anything up from your Mac.

However, if you don't want to use iCloud Drive in conjunction with your desktop and document folders, disable the feature...

What happens you delete all of the documents from the iCloud folder on your iMac and it deletes all of your local files in your documents folder....I just did this because I didn't realize that's would happen...
