unbind iPhone from iCloud account

Hello,

we are maintaining about ~300+ Apple devices for our internal users.

Now I have an iPhone, which is linked to an iCloud account.

I need to give this phone to somebody else urgently and I am not able to contact the prior user to tell me the iCloud-password.

How can I unlink the phone and the iCloud account?

Even after resetting the phone in maintainance mode I am asked to enter the prior account to continue.

You need to contact Apple and provide proof of ownership for them to remove Activation Lock from the phone.

We are in the same situation.  Templeton Peck is correct with that answer.  Their is no other turn around.  We have posted our work which we have done to prevent that with NEW phones been distributed in the company, however old phones can be done mentioned his way, or if you are lucky and they created an Apple ID with their work email account, you could re-enable that  Email account in the business, reset the apple id password, and then use that new password to login.
