External monitor problem

Hello,

I hope this is the right place for that. I have problem with edges on my Philips PHL 272P4A monitor, connected by HDMI to my 2017 MBP thru Hootoo Shuttle adapter. Problem is I can't access a certain area on the border of the monitor I mean mouse cursor can disappear in an area consisting in a good number of pixels (20, 30 ?), though invisible to me, across the physical borders of the monitor. And for example, apps which automatically tries to display new windows at the top of screen are partially hidden then, with their top bar (name, buttons etc) out of view.

Not very comfortable, I've checked in the monitor manual, looked here an there, nothing in the monitor OSD concerning border settings (strange...).

So if anyone has any clue ...

Thank you,

Change the display resolution to the monitor's native resolution. Don't use mirror display mode use extended display mode.

Thanks for the reply :-)

But I use it at the native resolution (2560x1440), no mirroring involved :-/

Hi P1afff:

Here is something from the manual.

  1. Imaging Problems

    Image is not centered

  2. Adjust the image position using the “Auto” function in OSD Main Controls.

Adjust the image position using the Phase/ Clock of Setup in OSD Main Controls. It is valid only in VGA mode.

[Edit] Just a note. The default resolution of a 15" 2017 MBP is 2880 x 1800.

Hope it helps,

Kim
